If you've never been to the red rock country of Sedona you're in for a treat. One of my favorite places to visit there is Tlaquepaque, a wonderland of art and shops of all description. Each time I go I wander through Tlaquepaque and view what's new. You'll also enjoy the different activities hosted at Tlaquepaque. This weekend is the celebration of what the cowboy and cow girl contributed to the area.
Tlaquepaque Celebrates National Day of the Cowboy
"Sedona, AZ: Listen up all you buckaroos and cowgirls! ... The special day is an Arizona Centennial Official Event presented by Sedona Main Street Program."

Sedona was also the site of many movies of the old west. If you watch some John Wayne movies you'll find Coffee Pot rock as he chases those bad guys through the canyon. Sedona is a joy to visit not only for the scenery, but also for the art, shops, history and ancient ruins.
