Well, not the lions and tigers, but there certainly are the bears. These bears have cubs. You've heard "hell hath no fury than a woman scorned?" Well, let me tell you, you'll feel like you're in hell if you get between a mother and her cubs.

Forest Service seeking Sedona-area trail builder

I dont' know why someone was "cutting" their own trail. One of the comments to this article implies it might be an individual wanting to plant a marijuana farm. Perhaps so. Us "ordinary folks," as in those without training, don't realize how fragile the eco system is.
