I dont' know why someone was "cutting" their own trail. One of the comments to this article implies it might be an individual wanting to plant a marijuana farm. Perhaps so. Us "ordinary folks," as in those without training, don't realize how fragile the eco system is.

I enjoyed my visit to Page AZ. It is a fairly new town established in the mid 20th Century. Although it wasn't very large (6 or 7 traffic lights down the main road) there is a wealth of water sports to enjoy.

My Photo of Cathedral Rock

This is one of my photos of Cathedral Rock. One of the most important things I've learned about photography is the importance of using a tripod. No matter how carefully you hold the camera it will jiggle. The tripod keeps that from happening. Even a little point and shoot which I have can have much better pictures using the stabilization of the tripod.

Carlsbad Caverns Wonders on Video

When I went to Carlsbads I was simply amazed. I had never been underground in such a vast area. We went on Thanksgiving morning. There weren't many people there, as you might expect. One of the rangers kept asking me to be quiet. I thought I was being quiet. When I asked another ranger, she said that "normal" conversation could be heard about a quarter of a mile. Just look at the wonders!
